'My name is Water': a story that can help children with respiratory problems

Currently, in the western world, the greatest threat and cause of child death are due to the influence of environmental factors. The Roger Torné Foundation focuses its efforts in this area and, among other things, funds scholarships for children with respiratory problems to benefit from their outdoor respiratory education programs.

In addition, through the projects it develops in the framework of its dissemination and awareness program and, specifically, through the Mapendo Tales, the Roger Torné Foundation He wants to address the children's audience with a poetic and magical look that allows them to understand the world around them and the importance in their lives of nature, good habits and the environment.

In this sense we really like the project that the foundation has in Verkami, it is a story that will be published in Spanish and Catalan. Is called 'My name is Water' and it is the third solidarity volume of the Mapendo collection, is written and illustrated by Mabel Piérola. You know that in Verkami it is a crowfunding platform where independent creators are welcomed, this time sand wants to get the edition of 'My name is Water'. The benefits of its sale will be used to increase the scholarship fund for children with respiratory problems and with few economic resources.

At present, for the Roger Toné Foundation, the name of Mapendo has remained a symbol of solidarity. That solidarity that, like water, we want to expand and soak everyone who is in contact with it

Maribel Piérola is considered one of the best illustrators and writers of children's stories in our country. His drawings, full of sensitivity and magic accompany an emotional and delicate poetry, designed for the enjoyment of children and adults. The beautiful prologue of 'My name is water' is in charge of the Mallorcan writer and poet Gabriel Janer.

Once the deadline for the project, which will be October 15, and after receiving the contributions from the different patrons, the story editing process will begin. It will be edited at the end of November, and they will organize the presentation of the story in early December.
