Nest or virtual crib in a hospital in Mexico

A few days ago we gave you our opinion about nests, nurseries or nurseries, and today we bring this term back. Why a hospital in Mexico offers a "virtual crib" service. But let's not panic, which does not refer to having the babies of the hospital in a room, together in their cribs and watched by a camcorder.

The ABC hospital in Mexico City includes among its services this virtual crib available to mothers who give birth there. It is a free service (how little is free in the hospital) and can be used for family or friends to see the baby without having to go to the hospital.

It consists of the following: doctors or nurses request the authorization of the parents of the newborn to take pictures and publish details about the baby's birth, birth method, possible name, weight and measures.

Once they give the authorization, the photo with the baby information is uploaded to the virtual cradle database of ABC, and parents are given a user password to use or lend to their relatives and can enter to see the baby whenever they want, on the hospital website.

Presence in the ABC Virtual Cunero, you only have to give the authorization at the time of your admission and your family and friends will be able to see the photograph of your newborn via the Internet, for security measure you are granted a username and password or if you wish You can customize them.

It seems an interesting idea, as long as the mother agrees and access security is reliable. This could avoid some unwanted visits to the hospital, and the maternity plant does not become a hotbed of people eager to meet the baby (especially with "excessively effusive" families).

Yes, I know that seeing the baby through the web is not the same, but ... have you not sent photos of your newborn by mobile phone to announce the good news? I do not know if the parents' illusion of making the baby or others known for knowing him is greater.

This virtual cradle would be, then, another way to make the baby known to our relatives, via Internet. However, on the other hand I find it somewhat disturbing that, newborns, are already "signed" on the web. Well, there are even mothers who tell their birth on Twitter much more publicly ... Too much technology?
