The realization of the V Brazilian Congress of Human Milk Banks and the First Ibero-American Congress of Human Milk Banks It is presented as a space of significant importance for concrete progress in the articulation of the system, strengthening its consolidation and, at the same time, maximizing the effectiveness of available resources.
This Congress will be held in Brasilia from September 28 to 30, 2010 and has presented its page today.
The central theme will be "The Commitment of Human Milk Banks with the Millennium Development Goals" and will be articulated in the following axes of discussion: Food and Nutrition Security in the Context of Neonatal Care, Assistance in Breastfeeding in the Network of Human Milk Banks and Strategies for Expansion with Consolidation of the Network of Banks of Human Milk.
The importance of promoting natural breastfeeding in all contexts and its prevalence over artificial breastfeeding, despite advertising strategies and the lack of preparation of society, are key points on which the work of the participants is based in this International Congress of Human Milk Banks.
