Is what is done by children in the world enough?

There are opinions for all tastes, although mostly the opinion that weighs the most is that of not doing enough for the children of the planet, especially for those who live in underdeveloped countries and who must face truly deplorable living conditions.

NGOs and other agencies agree, much more could be done for children and in fact this is manifested in a report prepared by UNICEF itself. In recent months we have known some news that shows how progress has been made as far as possible to meet the Millennium Goals, however, the approach is quite complicated. Reducing hunger, disease or child mortality is increasingly difficult, the development of biofuels, for example, is a major obstacle that can eliminate global wheat reserves that are supplied by underdeveloped countries and therefore, the Child hunger can increase. In fact, experts warn about this new situation, Jean Ziegler, the UN's special rapporteur for the Right to Food, requested a moratorium on the development of biofuels and the situation is quite evident.

On the other hand we find climate change, some of its effects are found, increased diseases, water scarcity, etc. There is no doubt, if so far the measures adopted to improve the situation of children were somewhat scarce, with the staging of the new problems these will be very insufficient. It is necessary to change some approaches, the future of childhood, especially that of the third world, depends on it.

The initial optimism that has been shown with the reduction of infant mortality, we will talk about it in the post It reduces infant mortality in the world, it can be news to escape to remember in successive years. Our response at the moment is that it is not enough for children and that in the face of new and problematic expectations, the implication must be much stronger.
