Preparing Christmas, the tree

Christmas preparations they are at the doorstep, in a few days more than one home will begin to decorate the house with the most typical of Christmas, the tree. Children are the ones who enjoy these reasons the most and for them we must be careful that Christmas is always a beautiful memory.

The first question is to choose the most suitable tree, in principle you can choose between a natural or an artificial tree, we, friends of the environment, no doubt we opt for the artificial one. Among other advantages, artificial trees do not turn on as easily as natural trees (the good ones), their leaves do not fall off and it lasts for many years. But now the question is, where am I going to put it and how much space do I have.

The American Academy of Pediatrics offers some advice in this regard, but we are only going to mention those related to artificial trees. Think that it should not be near stoves, radiators or fireplaces, and in the place that is placed should not hinder the passage. At the time of purchase, notice that the label says “Fire resistant” will be the best option.

If the tree has metal branches, electric lights should not be used, as they may be charged and when touched produce a discharge.

The ornaments should not have lead or be flammable and if your children are very small, do not hang small or removable objects that have sharp points or sharp parts, they could take them and get hurt.

Before mounting the lights, make sure the switches work well and do not forget to turn it off before going to bed to avoid possible accidents.

There are several things to keep in mind with Christmas decorations when there are children involved, what advice would you give us?
