Diary of my pregnancy: at rest

I start this week resting because of "2 cm dilation and short neck" detected in the last medical check.

With 35 weeks + 2 days (isn't it the 36th week?) It would be a premature delivery, so it is better for me to be calm so that the baby stays inside as long as possible, gains weight and strengthens her defenses.

Although I am in a hurry to get out, they told me that I have to "hold it" until week 37, at least.

So, from bed to sofa and bathroom. Well, being the second pregnancy, the birth process is triggered faster than the first time. As soon as labor contractions begin, it is impossible to stop them and labor ensues, regardless of the week. As I was told, the dilation may begin a few weeks before delivery, but the most significant is the neck erasure that indicates the beginning of labor.

One of the causes of the threat of preterm birth, and perhaps mine in this case, is the stress of the mother during pregnancy, not stopping a second, work, a two-year-old girl, a husband, the house , shopping, food, blah blah blah.

I imagine that it also depends a lot on each woman. In the last weeks I had no symptoms of premature delivery. Yes some contractions, but no pain. I thought they were the typical “trial” contractions called Braxton Hicks from the last weeks of pregnancy, but it seems that more than trial they wanted to be the beginning of the function.

For now, it's all quiet. Taking the opportunity to rest, sleep and be cool for when the big moment arrives, hopefully in due time. I will keep you updated.
