As you can see in the picture, it seems more like an experiment than a reality because I have not been able to find the name of the restaurant nor do I think that a meal with children and dessert costs 54 dollars, if the children behave well during the meal the restaurant offers a discount on the amount of the bill. From what you see in the image, the reduction is almost 10%, which can be very attractive. Although some of us are also struck that taxes are 5% while in Spain we have 10% VAT, we behave as we behave.
Let the restaurant do what it wantsIt seems good to me, if you consider that you have to reward parents and their children for behaving well, you can compensate with better attention, more services and more satisfied customers. Although it opens an interesting debate of what would happen if a restaurant offers something similar in the event that children misbehave. The comments I've read on other sites that have talked about the news show the necessary responsibility of parents in the education of their children, from what does it mean to behave well, why do we have to judge children's behavior, of the sites that restrict entry to children and many more opinions.
As a client I will also do what I want. Unfortunately, the service in many places, at least in Spain, has clearly gone worse: dirty tables, noise, poor attention, proposals for cooking at the table and the latest novelty with self-service! And prices not only have not fallen but do not stop rising. So as long as there is supply and demand the restaurant will offer whatever you want and as a consumer I will choose the most appropriate to my criteria.
Although it seems to me an experiment that is generating a rich teaching, it shouldn't surprise us because there are many restaurants that offer spaces for children to play and entertain, at the table, with paintings and papers, or outside it with play areas or gardens, and surely that service is also included in the bill.
The responsibility for the education of the children belongs to the parents and if a restaurant has considered that it can reward that dedication with a discount on the bill, it seems like a good initiative. Surely the responsible parents will accept that reward, they will thank the restaurant for their proposal and will return, especially if the food is also good.
